The Joint Center for China-US Law & Policy Studies

In 2005, Peking University and Beijing Foreign Studies University established the Joint Center for China-U.S. Law & Policy Studies, in collaboration with Anthony M. Kennedy, Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court and Jeffrey S. Lehman, former president of Cornell University.

The Joint Center is a focal point for cooperation among academics and legal professionals in China and the United States, through which ideas are shared about legal norms and institutions, and their relationship to public policy and civil society.

Since the Joint Center began its activities in 2006, it has sponsored and co-sponsored an array of conferences and seminars in China and the United States on subjects including taxation, international trade, the rule of law generally, and the role of in-house counsel in multinational corporations.
